Privacy Policy

Last updated:

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information EaseHome collects, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our website, mobile app and related services.

Who we are

EaseHome is an online store for premium home electrical and décor products and a marketplace for verified home-service professionals, serving customers across India. The EaseHome platform is owned and operated by Perni Kethan Sai, a sole proprietorship, registered at 47-15/2/B, Sri Sai Colony, Chintal, Hyderabad, Telangana 500055, India (GSTIN 36HXHPK2822K1Z6). In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to this entity operating as EaseHome.

We are the data fiduciaryresponsible for your personal data under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made under it. By using EaseHome, you agree to the practices described here and in our Terms of Service.

Information we collect

We only collect information we need to run the store, deliver your orders and support you. This includes:

  • Account details — your name, email address and mobile phone number. A verified phone number is required to place an order so we and our delivery partners can reach you.
  • Delivery addresses — the address, PIN code and landmark you save or enter at checkout. We use your PIN code to look up your city and state and to calculate delivery.
  • Order & transaction information — the products, variants and quantities you buy, order and invoice history, and payment status. We do not store your full card, UPI or bank credentials (see Payments).
  • Support & communications — the contents of support tickets, replacement requests, and messages you send us, including any photos you attach.
  • Professional bookings — details you share when you contact or book a listed home-service professional.
  • Device & usage data — with your consent, analytics about how you use the site (pages viewed, products browsed, approximate device and browser information) and similar data from cookies and comparable technologies.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account and keep it secure.
  • Process orders and payments, arrange delivery, and share tracking updates.
  • Provide customer support and handle replacement requests and warranty claims.
  • Send you transactional messages (order confirmations, delivery and payment updates) by email, in-app inbox and push notifications.
  • Personalise your experience — for example, your “For You” recommendations and recently-viewed products.
  • Detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse and security incidents.
  • Meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations.
  • Send marketing or promotional messages where you have opted in; you can opt out at any time.

We rely on your consent, the performance of our contract with you (fulfilling your orders), our legitimate interests in running a safe and reliable store, and our legal obligations, as the lawful bases for these uses.

Cookies & analytics

We use a small number of essential cookies and local storage that are necessary for the site to work — for example, to keep you signed in and remember your cart.

We also use privacy-friendly product analytics (PostHog) to understand what’s useful and improve your experience. Analytics only run after you accept our consent banner, and you can decline or change your choice at any time. Declining analytics does not affect your ability to shop.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted parties who help us operate the store, and only as much as they need:

  • Payment gateway — PayU, to securely process your payments and refunds.
  • Delivery & logistics partners — our courier partners, to deliver your orders and provide tracking.
  • PIN-code lookup — the India Post postal directory, to resolve your city and state from your PIN code.
  • Home-service professionals — the relevant professional, when you choose to contact or book them.
  • Technology providers — our hosting and database provider (Supabase), email and messaging providers, and analytics provider, under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal & safety — authorities or advisers where required by law, or to protect our rights, users and the public.

Payments

Payments on EaseHome are processed by our payment gateway, PayU, which supports UPI, cards and netbanking. When you pay, your card, UPI or banking details are entered directly with PayU’s secure systems — we never see or store your full payment credentials. We only receive the payment status and a reference needed to confirm your order and process any refund. Refunds, when applicable, are returned to your original payment method.

Data retention

We keep your personal data only for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet legal, accounting and tax requirements (for example, invoices and transaction records are retained for the period required under Indian law). When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. Some information tied to completed orders is retained as part of that order’s record even if you later change your account details.

Your rights & choices

Subject to applicable law, including the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and request a copy.
  • Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information — you can edit most details from your account.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to records we must retain by law.
  • Withdraw consent you previously gave (for example, for analytics or marketing) without affecting past processing.
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity, as provided under the DPDP Act.
  • Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (see below).

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@easehome.app from the address linked to your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Children's privacy

EaseHome is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

How we protect your data

We protect your data with encryption in transit, strict database access controls (row-level security), and access limited to authorised staff on a need-to-know basis. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information and will notify you and the authorities of a personal data breach where the law requires.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Please review this page periodically.
